Memoir of Władysław Łada describing his youth in Ukraine before and during the 1917 revolution and the civil war, and his escape to Poland in 1919. It describes his life as a young man in Warsaw during 1920-1930, and his ordeal of imprisonment in two Nazi concentration camps during WW II. He miraculously survives those camps, is liberated by US Army, and returns to Warsaw to rebuild his life. He is a great storyteller.
