For centuries Islam was an obscure and relatively insignificant Middle Eastern culture tucked away in an uninviting and desolate part of the world and for over 1400 years it remained unique and unchanged. But make no mistake, Islam is not just a superficial religion practiced only on Sundays, it is also a deeply rooted culture and a committed way of life. Therein lies both its nobility and its inability to change and adapt.
Today, Islam is still that ancient and unchanged religion that finds itself incapable of adapting to a modern secular civilization. Consequently, as the rapid expansion of Civilization encroaches into more and more Muslim nations, it is pressuring that ancient culture to modernize and adapt or abandon its religious beliefs and its unique way of life entirely.
At the heart of this conflict of cultures is an ancient religion fighting for its right to exist in the modern world and colliding headlong into a Civilization that is fighting to fulfill its desperate need to expand.
