The main character Justin is the third son of the King of All Men in the city of Houd. The story opens on the evening of his mother's funeral. Justin torn by the loss of his mother plots to leave home and pursue his talent for magic. However, his younger sister reminds him of his obligation to take her to an annual fair. He attends. Justin finally takes off and hides out in a city far to the north called Bristol. It’s a cold place inhabited by people who the world has forgotten. As an outcast, he fits right in. His life continues to change as he becomes a tutor for the wealthy Count Ugo. But shortly after his arrival in Bristol, he meets a young dragon. At first, he believes he is to be the dragon’s meal, but he finds out she has been seeking him. Her father as ordered her to find him. Confused and curious, Justin sets out on a new journey to help the dragon find her father to learn of the prophecy the Dragon Lord has to tell. And that is only the beginning of Justin’s Tale.
