Waleria Wojceik is a child survivor of the Holocaust. She was a happy ten-year-old, living with her family on a farm in the small town of Zambrov. Her father was a gypsy, and when Hitler’s army marched into Poland, her nightmare began. Valerie spent four years of her life in the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Ravensbruek, where she witnessed cruelty and abuse that, for most of us, is unimaginable. She suffered the loss of her brothers, her sisters and both parents. She lost her innocence, her faith and her childhood. Yet she survived. This is her story.
