Shades of Gray: Drugs, Drug Policies and Racism

This research began from one large question or suspicion: that racism and the war on drugs somehow interconnect. I delved into this research expecting to find a “smoking gun” answer but if one does exist, it has remained elusive. In order to explore the answers to the question, though, I had to formulate a number of sub-questions and pursue these separately, while also bringing the different pieces of learning together to see if or how they intersected. For the purposes of accessibility, I have tried to unravel different strands, and in some cases have artificially divided them.
