The Dutch celebrate the fifth and sixth of December by exchanging gifts to honor the generosity of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas). There is something special about the gift exchange. The recipient reads aloud a poem that comes with the gift. This may be vague references, other times clear and precise. The recipient with help of the guests tries to guess the content of the gift as well as the author of the poem. Once so done the gift is opened among much discussion and surprise. In this book you will share the poems of over 10 years in the Dutch tradition. Try to guess the gift and be a part of this wonderful Dutch celebration.
