Borderstrike! South Africa into Angola 1975 - 1980
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
When first published in 1983, it sold out almost immediately. A reconstruction of the early “external operations” of the South West African/Namibian border war between 1978 and 1980, it remains a standard reference work to this day.
This was a significant publishing event because it showed how the nature of the border war had changed irrevocably, from the occasional ad-hoc “hot pursuit” of SWAPO insurgents into a full-blown semi-conventional conflict. It heralded the shape of things to come, which was to culminate in the fierce later battles of 1988/89, when South Africans and UNITA slugged it out toe-to-toe with the Soviet-supported and led forces of the Angolan government (Cuban & Russian).
Out of print for many years, “Borderstrike!” has long been a sought-after item among those interested in African wars. Now JustDone is able to publish a new edition. It contains all the material of the original, but adds new information, new chapters and many new postscripts and annotations.
