This is the third book in my series about hiking and exploring in parts of Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky, roughly south of Lexington, and other areas outside of DBNF, and even a few places in other states. I moved to this region in late 1994 because of the national forest and the topography. Exploring rocky creeks in woods with cliff-lined hollows has long been a big interest of mine, and making photos of all that. I did a lot of that in western Ky, and then started on this region in late '94. After moving here, I made a new friend, Tom, and he and I did a lot of roaming by road and a little by walking, for several years. Another friend and co-worker, David, and I did a lot of cave exploring (exploring for us) in 1996 and some surface hiking. I met my wife Barb several years after moving to this region. She likes the outdoors too and we went on many outings. Then Majid found my website I had at the time and contacted me. We became friends and went on many outings over the last several years. I made many photos during all that, of cliffs, woods, rocky creeks, and waterfalls, and views from overlooks. In 1996 I made a lot of cave photos, and had an article published in Kentucky Living magazine in late '96. I had a cave section on my website, and that is how Majid found me. Mostly, I and whoever was with me, hiked on the surface at interesting places in this region, and there are many, a lot more than I will ever see. I did a lot of roaming by myself in a Jeep I had over 20 years ago, and Tom went with me in his 4x4 to some places, and just exploring by road at times. After that, Barb and I did some roaming in different trucks we had, and hiked too. For the last several years, it has been Majid and I doing a lot of hiking to different parts. Barb hasn't been able to do that anymore. She and I get out for rides in the country now and then. I have more about all this in my introduction inside. All of this book is about Majid and I exploring an area of DBNF near the community of Mount Victory, Ky, several miles east of Somerset, Ky. This was done at various times during a period of a few years.
