The Brexit debate, both before and particularly after the referendum, has been long on emotion and short on facts. This is a comprehensive book that sets out the context and facts on the basis of which a plurality of UK voters decided to leave. The guts of this book are as much in its more than 80 tables, charts and graphs, as in the text. These facts will continue to be relevant as long as the Brexit debate itself does not go away. The author has had a vantage point in the last 91⁄2 years as an elected Member of the European Parliament; almost all that time as EFDD Group Coordinator (in US parlance “ranking member”) on the European Parliament’s Committee for International Trade.
