The story of Richard the Third of England from the time of his brother, Edward's, establishment on the throne to his last day at the battle of Bosworth Field. It encompases his secret marriage to Anne, the daughter of Warwick the Kingmaker and sister of Edward's Queen: the troubles caused by his brother George, Duke of Clarence: the invasion of France: Richard's campaign in Scotland: Edward's early death and the events that lead to Richard eventually claiming the Crown: the fate of Edward's two sons - The Princes in the Tower - is given a new twist: The story of his brief reign: his attempts to be a good monarch to his people are slowly undermined by the machinations of a few resentful barons and the exiled Henry Tudor which lead to the final battle of Richard's life.
