1/5 Scale Sherman Tank Riding Toy Plans and Instructions, Second Edition
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Build a tank big enough for a child to ride in! This tank is about 4 feet long and just under 30 inches wide (small enough to barely fit through an typical interior door). It is powered by two electric motors and two deep cycle batteries, and reaches walking speed. The tracks are REAL, not mockups. The tank is made entirely of wood, so no special tools are needed.
Expanding on the first edition, these plans include 81 pages and 86 illustrations and photos. It covers hull construction, suspension assembly, track construction, motor selection and installation, even paint. Sources for parts (some of them decidedly non-conventional), and tactics for saving money are also included. EVERYTHING you need to know.
I tell you some of the mistakes I made, and how you can avoid them. I also include several thoughts on improving reliability, cost, and ease of construction of the design - things that I did not do, but would, if I were to do it over again.
