Purvis's War is the story of a U.S. Army combat correspondent who returns home and is assigned to a desk job which he hates. Bored, he volunteers to cover the fighting in French Indochina but is turned down by the U.S. military. Taking annual leave, he arrives in Indochina posing as a reporter only to find himself in trouble with certain "mysterious" sources.
