I grew up in Poland and as I did, I read poetry, some of which impressed me a lot. Later I even met some of those poets whose poems impressed me. This was at the time when the Iron Curtain was still in place. I managed to cross that curtain and ended up in England. Here I also read poems and in order to see what impression they could have, I translated some into Polish, just for myself. Then, years later, I realised that I have lived in England longer than I had ever lived in Poland. Then I started to do the opposite - writing English versions of the poems that impressed me in the past. This what is inside this book.
