"Irrational Dreams" - a comedy soap opera

If you can imagine "All My Children" crossed with "Saturday Night Live", you will have an idea of how this play works. "Irrational Dreams" contains many plot elements of the 'traditional' soap opera - adultery, blackmail, budding romances, turbulent careers, etc. - only for comedic effect, rather than the melodrama of the TV soap. The setting is modern-day Los Angeles, and many of the central characters work in the movie industry.
