Sovereignty of Thoughts —A Concept that Terminates Western Thinking Since Descartes (The Sovereignty of Thoughts Inner and Outer)

The Sovereignty of Thoughts (title in italics) is a work by Mr. Xie Xuanjun written between 2012 and 2013. Its core argument asserts that merely acknowledging the freedom of thought is far from sufficient; one must also recognize the existence of “thought sovereignty.” Thought is the supreme sovereignty, not only creating various forms of national sovereignty but also giving rise to science, art, morality, and religion. “Thought sovereignty” even created humanity itself, as manifested in both “God’s creation of man” and “human evolution.” The existence of thought sovereignty ensures the interconnectedness between humanity and the universe, enabling humans to understand the universe and allowing the universe to shape humanity. Furthermore, the author replaces Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am” with “I am because you respond,” as both you and I exist under the sovereignty of thought. The proposition of “thought sovereignty” marks the termination of Western thought since Descartes.
