From the Abyss of Time

The pieces included in this volume of poetry were written during and after the unprecedented diaster that struck Japan on March 11, 2011. I wrote these poems in response to my inner calling as a Japanese poet who writes in both Japanese and English. This volume is not only for the repose of the deceased but also for the healing of the living. I would like to dicate this volume to the victims and survivors of the Great East Japan Earthquake and devastating chain reaction it sparked, including the tsunami and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. Having transformed experiences of one nation into something more universal and spiritual, I also dedicate this to the victims of similar disasters throughout the world. My thourghts and prayers are with them. All of the proceeds from this book will be donated to the victims of this tragedy via Japanese Red Cross.
