The never-ending war between good and evil continues to be one of the most popular themes in mainstream fiction. The ensuing battles in STAR CROSS INN are waged on the shores of the Great Lakes. Deception, greed, murder, seduction, and illicit love are interwoven to produce a compelling epic in the same vein as Rich Man, Poor Man and The Thorn Birds.
STAR CROSS INN begins with Malcolm Danford, a self-made timber and shipping tycoon. Coming from a background of poverty and abuse, he grew to manhood in Michigan lumber camps. Malcolm, as a legacy for his newborn son and heir, sets in motion the design and creation of the enigmatic Star Cross Inn. It also gives impetus to a series of events which profoundly alter Malcolm’s life and the lives of his descendants.
The primary setting is Haven Harbor, a prosperous and bustling port city on the west coast of Michigan in the late 1800s. Star Cross Inn is an opulent turn-of-the-century resort on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Spanning the mid-1800s to the late 1950s, the various time periods visited in STAR CROSS INN have been well-researched to assure historic authenticity.
