My Life, My Choice, My Future I have written this book to empower and educate people who have a life experience like mine and to provide awareness to the people who support us. I’m enthusiastic about this book because these are our lives and I want to make it clear to everyone that we have rights and choices, the same as everyone else. This story is to help people understand what it’s like growing up with a disability. I will try to describe the struggles and obstacles I have had to overcome as a caring and enthusiastic adult with autism and an intellectual disability. Too often people who grow up with a disability are not heard. This story is about me and what I have gone through in life and what I have done to improve my life and the lives of others who have disabilities. I hope my story will help teach and educate others about how we can all see the ability and not the disability in people.
