Extract... “Dranian! Leave her alone, don’t you dare touch her!” Dranian ignored Sade’s desperate pleas and continued his walk to Eva. When Dranian was within three feet of Eva, he raised his palm to the air and materialized his weapon. Gripping his sword handle with both hands, Dranian could see the tears welling up in Eva’s eyes as she faced her death. “You’ll be the first to go. Don’t blame me, blame yourself for not being strong enough.” Dranian gripped his sword harder and swung down ferociously towards the defenseless girl. Eva closed her eyes and waited for her inevitable pain and death. When it didn’t come, Eva slowly opened one eye but the only thing she could see was black. Opening the other eye, Eva was able to see that the black thing in front of her face was moving slightly. Tilting her head up, she was able to see the top of the black object and made out the back of a head. Without thinking, Eva shouted out the first name that came to mind. “Alan!” This is book 1 of the Alan Braise series.
