Iron-Blooded Mengyuan

Temujin's own remains were taken back to the Mongolian steppes by his men, a journey that took many months. It is not known what kind of embalming techniques were used, but it is said that those who saw the body along the way were sent to the other side of the world to serve the great monarch there. After arriving at their destination, the body was left to rest for another three months so that princes, nobles and ambassadors could come and pay their respects. It is thought that it was an unprecedented event, for as many as forty countries had been previously conquered by this man. Then comes the Mongolian funeral.
