On An April Mourning
Love and Limerence Poetry
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
On An April Mourning is a raw, bloody, and gore-ridden mess of poetry, prose, photography and artwork which explores the nightmarish spaces between love and limerence, weakness and godhood, lust and rage. Riches shares the macabre concept of ripping your own heart out of your delicate chest cavity for someone, even if nothing will be accomplished from it - allowing yourself to be driven to absolute feral madness - sobbing and screaming under the light of the full moon as you watch The Tower come crumbling down around you.
In her debut poetry collection, Zoë Riches opens her heart fully and displays the vulnerability of her inner world - navigating the complex idea of being deeply infatuated with someone who is (probably) unattainable. She sets her own temporal existence ablaze as she ascends to godhood through love and loss.
On An April Mourning is a compilation of an abnormally long manic episode of wine-tipsy poem writing and roughly four years of artwork and photography.
