Friends of the Light was created in January 2011 by a small group of Friends, having been given a leading to create spaces in the world where people could come together to encourage and support each other as they explored their relationship with God. July 2012, at Woodbrooke, saw the launch of the first of these spaces with the online community and the first of the bi-monthly gatherings. In these spaces the community has begun to explore how to be a Christian in the very distinctive and different way of Friends. At the heart of this new community we first seek to be led by the Spirit of Christ within. We also take inspiration from the early Christian church, Scripture and lives and writings of Friends.
