The Mukhtar Method of teaching oud, Arabic Music Theory and Darbuka has been designed by award-winning, master oud musician Ahmed Mukhtar who had begun his musical journey in 1983 while studying in Baghdad, and later in Damascus and London under the tutelage of great oud masters. The Mukhtar Method uses a scafolding teaching technique where each maqam (scale), exercise, techinique and musical piece has been carefully selected in order to build on the learners' knowledge and confidence while challenging them to take the extra step to further develop their skills.
