Bill Berrett lives in Ilkley, Yorkshire and until recently Auckland, New Zealand, is married to Sheila and they have two daughters. He has designed Staple New Writing magazine from the beginning in 1982 and also the associated Staple FIRST EDITIONS. The founders of Staple Magazine, Donald and Joan Measham have been their friends since the Sixth Form in Birmingham. In his work as an Architect and Planner he was intimately part of the conception of a New City which eventually has become Milton Keynes. After being the Planner for Auckland in New Zealand he taught Architecture and Urban Design at Leeds and Southampton Universities. He has encouraged several other writers who had never intended to have their work in print, to commission him to design and produce books through Lulu.com.
