About
Damian Gareth Walker
Damian Gareth Walker has been interested in old board games for over a decade. He has spent much of that time in research on games from the 5000-year-old senet, to games of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries like halma and lasca. He has a particular interest in hnefatafl, a Norse game which spread throughout northern Europe before the introduction of chess. Before publishing his first real books in 2013, Damian published a set of sixty leaflets on-line, each dealing with a particular game or game family, which are still available for free download. These were published between 2006 and 2011, and have been used by re-enactment groups and museums to spread interest in the board games of former ages.
