John recently retired to Whitby North Yorkshire where he spent his childhood days which provides the setting for his children's books also Yesterday's child. He joined the Royal Navy at the age of Fifteen ( Metamorphosis) and the joined the Prison service where he served for thirty years (Poacher to keeper). He then worked for the social services running a gardening co-operative for those with learning difficulties
