Paul Humphreys is a retired employee of The University of Oxford. As a novice writer of this, his first self-published short story - The Oxford Chair - Paul reflects on his time in Oxford, where he was born, schooled, and worked for both Town and Gown up to the time he moved to his retirement bungalow on the outskirts of the City. The Dreaming Spires are no longer visible from the windows of his new home. But his retirement location is where he found inspiration for this story, and the time to pick up his pen to write it.
