I was born in 1934 in the small village of Privett in Hampshire, England. WW2 commenced in September 1939, we had just moved to Botley, another Hampshire village near Southampton. I was just old enough to know that something called war had broken out. As the years progressed I became fully aware of the results of war. On my birthday in 1945 the war in Europe was over. In 1951. Enthused by those who defended our country, I joined the RAF for an eight year term determined to do my bit for King (in those days) and country. After that a spell in Insurance and Estate Agency before reverting back to my engineering background, traipsing about the world at someone else's expense in the Oil business. After I retired I lived and travelled in Canada and United States for 10years. In 2004 I had my Prostate removed. In 2010 I returned to UK when I was diagnosed with Metastatic Prostate Cancer. I pass my time sharing these stories, so my descendants and you will know what I did in my lifetime.
