About
richard_guise

After trying his hand at careers as a geography teacher, van driver, economist and 'usability engineer' (and even now he's not sure what that was), Richard finally found that a knack for telling a good tale combined well with an urge to travel and embarked on a writing career at the age of 49. Better late than never. His best-seller is 'From the Mull to the Cape' (2008), which has sold 6,000 copies and, along with 'Over the Hill and Round the Bend' (2009) and 'Two Wheels Over Catalonia' (2011), was published by Summersdale (www.summersdale.com). His latest book is 'The Extraordinary Life of Harry Quiningborough', the story of his great-uncle, a music-hall comedian, published by Blurb (www.blurb.co.uk). His current project is an unusual tour of France, following old travelogues from the last 250 years, with the provisional title 'Around France with Thicknesse and Smelfungus'. It will probably be published on Lulu towards the end of 2018. BY THE WAY, MOST ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY!
