About
Ronald Wiseman
Ron Wiseman was born in Tara, Queensland, in 1937, the eldest of six children. After a few years spent on a dairy farm at Maroochydore, the family moved to Brisbane, where Ron learned then taught in turn, as a teacher and tutor to many. Poetry found him after his retirement to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where he is still living with his wife Joy in a house overlooking the coast. He has been writing since, as well as editing and publishing anthologies of contemporary poetry featuring poets from around the world. He is part of several writing groups, both on- and offline, and has visited many poet friends in North America, Europe and South Africa. He is still learning though, and faithfully attends weekly meetings with Dr Bruce Dawe, Australian poet of note.
