Shiwana Rucker
In his poem, “Theme for English B,” Poet Laureate, Langston Hughes writes, “The instructor said, go home and write a page tonight. And let that page come out of you – Then, it will be true.” A proud native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Shiwana L. Rucker has spent the past 30 years writing various genres such as poetry, short stories, essays and more, all of which have come out of the depths of her heart, with the sole intent of inspiring and enhancing the hearts of others. Her writing has been featured on the award-winning blog site, “The Sophisticated Life,” “Free to be Unpluckable” and in ministry newsletters. The English major, who currently resides in the Metropolitan Atlanta area, is a lover of words, language, and stories. When she’s not spending time with her daughter and two grandchildren, Shiwana can be found correcting the grammatical errors on the posts of her social media friends.
