During his 27 year law enforcement career Tom served in several special assignments to include: Patrol, Undercover Strike Team, S.W.A.T., Hostage Negotiator, Juvenile Crimes Unit, Robbery/Homicide Unit, Gang Unit, Administrative Patrol Sergeant, Internal Affairs Unit, Watch Commander and District Commander. He rose through the ranks, retiring in 2005 at the rank of Deputy Chief in charge of the Investigations and Support Services Bureau.He is a graduate of the 1997 Leadership Stockton Program and Session 210 of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Tom currently volunteers his time investigating cold case homicides for the Oregon City Police Department and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
