Thomas Flynn

Tom Flynn is a London-based art historian and writer. He holds a BA (Hons) degree in art history from the University of Sussex, a Masters degree in design history from the Royal College of Art and a doctorate from the University of Sussex. His interests include contemporary art, sculpture history, museology and the historical development of museums, art crime, cultural heritage, and the art market. Tom has written for numerous international art publications and is the author of The Body in Sculpture (Everyman Art Library 1998), and co-editor (with Dr Tim Barringer) of Colonialism and the Object: Empire, Material Culture and the Museum (Routledge, 1997). His monograph on the British sculptor Sean Henry was published in 2008. He is currently writing a dictionary of the art market. He teaches at Kingston University, at the Institut des Etudes Superieures des Arts, London and at ARCA (Association for Research into Crimes Against Art) in Italy. He founded The Sculpture Agency in 2009.
