Change Management

Change Management and the changes to Configuration, Release and Assets as a whole group of activities have traditionally been concerned with finding effective solutions to specific operational problems. The purpose of this book is to look at current problems and new, better methods, techniques, and tools for processing changes. In the past, it has been found that too many of the solutions are not implemented and, of those that are, too few survive the inclination of client functional areas to return to familiar ways of doing things. Therefore, Change Management personnel have gradually come to realize that their tasks should not only include solving specific problems but also designing problem-solving and implementation systems that predict and prevent future problems, identify and solve current ones, and implement and maintain these solutions under changing conditions.
