David C. Harrison demonstrates his incredible memory of bygone days in school, along with his endless determination to succeed as a deaf student in the early 1960s. Dave thrived in a time which had very little concept of how to educate a young man with his considerable challenges, but he emerged triumphant, and survived to tell about it in this humorous and sometimes poignant book. Dave's tenacity, optimism and good nature enable him to accomplish things that have amazed many through the years. His desire to do that which is right in God's sight is a constant part of his story. Dave's family is also portrayed as supportive, although not always completely understanding of his plight. But, together they succeed where many would predict certain failure.
