Emergence

In his first novel, author H. Bruce May creates a fast-paced science fiction saga that follows Professor Richard Neville as he is pulled into the search for superintelligence AI by the Marilyn Comstock, Deputy Director of the Office of National Intelligence (DNI) who is unaware that the superintelligent being is already communicating with Dr. Neville. What follows escalates all the way up to the Pentagon and the Office of the President who calls an emergency session of the National Security Council to deal with the emergent superintelligence to destroy it before it takes over the world. Professor Neville is provided protection by the superintelligent AI as the chase leads him to CIA Headquarters and continues around the world. Professor Neville could never have imagined the outcome of his journey into human and machine consciousness and the truths revealed about what it means to be human.
