CADDY DAYS

CADDY DAYS is a reminiscent look at golf in Stark County from the late 1940's to 1961, focusing on the author's youthful experiences as a caddy at Brookside CC. The narrative also includes high school matches and recreational golf at Edgewood, Tam O'Shanter, and The Elms; the excitement of attending PGA tournaments at Firestone CC; and life as an assistant professional at Shady Hollow CC and Congress Lake Club. Mingled with these scenes is a sketch of the writer's year at Ohio State University as he and some friends try to make a varsity golf team dominated by a freshman named Jack Nicklaus.
