Barmouth Bridge

This is the story of two very different families and the tragedy that unfolds when they converge. The Turners live on a council estate on the edge of a Midlands town, the Robsons just a few miles away but in another world; the Turners live on benefit and dishonesty, the Robsons farm the land their family has owned since the reign of Elizabeth I. In James Standish, social worker to the Turners’ teenage daughter and fiancé of Jo Robson, the two worlds come together. For James and Jo, Barmouth Bridge is the special place where they fell in love; on the day Lee Turner intrudes on Coldleigh Farm Jo is putting the finishing touches to her painting of the bridge. It will never be finished. And four hundred years of history will come to an horrific end.
