Why They Cry

Three short stories set in the exciting Irongate universe, featuring perpetually angry tween anti-hero Tenley Tych and her adopted adult, the tech-witch and lighthouse keeper Jennifer Airhart. In Cold Call, Tenley has recently moved into the lighthouse with her new guardian when the phone that hasn't rang in years begins to do so, and Tenley finds herself talking to what could be a ghost. In Why They Cry, Tenley awakens to a perfect life. Her mother loves her. Her dad is sending her birthday cards filled with birthday money. Yet she is filled with a nagging doubt that this isn't her life at all, and a message that keeps repeating in her head; Remember the Rabbit. Finally in King of the Dump, Tenley accompanies Jennifer on a scavenging trip, collecting junk to be turned into who-knows-what contraptions Jenn's mind will come up with. Little do they know, however, that they have disturbed a guardian.
