Sixteen-year-old Collin has always dreamed of having an adventure. He gets his wish when he accidentally stumbles into a fantasy world; a world of lavish royalty, medieval villages, and a "haunted" forest. In one of the villages, he meets a passionate girl named Gwyn, who brings him into the world of the strange creatures called Sylvans. The Sylvans live in exile in the forest, feared because of their not-quite-human appearances and their unique lifestyles of music and dance. Both Gwyn and the Sylvans teach Collin to hear the ever-present song of nature that most humans have forgotten how to hear. Gwyn's older brother, Bran, works as a servant in the royal palace. He and Sejala, the eldest princess, have been secretly in love for over a year. They manage to escape the castle and flee into the forest, heading towards a new life. As they travel home, though, danger is following them with every footstep. Only Gwyn and Collin will be able to save them-- but can they make it in time?
