Of the 64! possible sequences in which the Yijing's binary figures--"hexagrams"--could be arranged, only a few have been consistently agreed upon as "meaningful." The author earlier applied a "consolidated view" filter to identify structural elements in the Yijing sequence [Schulz, 2011]. Another ordering strategy, devised in the 11th century, was incorporated into the textbook editions of the Yijing thereafter. In one of the great confluences of history this graphic found its way to the German mathematician Leibniz and confirmed his belief in the legitimacy of the binary number system. Comparing elements of those two hexagram orders, the monograph extracts the properties of individual figures and grammatical rules of their placement and successfully tests them against another binary sequence. The implication is that this grammar reflects something of the manner in which the brain's binary information processing structure organizes sensory input into affective content.
