Collecting Payment

Flo’s life was in a downward spiral. Over the years she’s been known to be addicted to many substances most of them illegal, she’s been known for sleeping around too – sometimes for drugs. Her beauty almost faded with time. Occasionally when we met, I would still see that gleam in her eyes that foretold of incoming silliness but that was about it. I was her best friend until we graduated. After that, shit hit the fan and everything just got crappy for her. I wished there was something I could do but she seemed to push me away entirely as if to shield me from the horrors she was experiencing. Whatever it was she never told me. Nor did she confide in Jan, her other best friend – my wife.
