Rite

Rite is Steve Wheeler's seventh collection of poetry, following on from the success of Ellipsis, Urban Voices, My Little Eye and other poetry books. Rite features a wide variety of themes and styles, from the traditional to the freeform. Steve's poems can at once be visceral yet subtle, wry but serious, sublime and ridiculous in equal measure. His words have the power to challenge, shock, amuse and inspire. His use of imagery and metaphors, along with literary devices such as wordplay, alliteration and repetition, coupled with strong rhythm and rhyme have become his trademarks as a wordsmith. Some of the pieces in this collection were written to be performed live, while others are simply a feast of visual playfulness.
