Steve Brodner

Steve Brodner is an artist, journalist, educator and commentator. His work has appeared in major publications in the United States and overseas since the 1970's. He is acknowledged to be in the vanguard of a revival of satiric art in the US beginning in the 1980s. He has been a contributor to The Nation, Time, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, The NY Times, The Washington Post, Politico, Nautilus, The Wall St. Journal, Harper's, The Atlantic, Mother Jones etc. He is the recipient of the major annual awards given in the graphic arts as well as the St. Gardens lifetime achievement award from Cooper Union, The Hamilton King Award from The Society of Illustrators, The Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism. Ive was thew subject of a one-man show "Raw Nerve" at the Norman Rockwell Museum in 2008 and a retrospective book: "Freedom Fries" published by Fantagraphics Books. He teaches at the School of Visual Arts and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
