Cathy Colburn is the mother of three children: Eric, Rebeca, and Alex. She is the co-founder, along with her husband, Roger, of the Mariposa Foundation. Her work with the Mariposa Foundation is her way to express gratitude to those who have been support during her difficult times. She reaches out to those who are in need of light in a dark time of their lives. Her inspiration for writing children’s stories comes from her own childhood and from being a mother. She believes that emotions that are pushed away eventually return, and emotions that are felt create depth and wisdom. She likes to be reminded of the perspective of children and her books help her step into their shoes for a moment.
