Jay Jarvis
Jay Jarvis is a native of St. James, New York. He worked in forensic science for over 45 years, including his time at the Georgia State Crime Laboratory. His expertise includes firearms/tool marks, hairs and fibers, paint, glass, shoe and tire impressions, arson and explosives, latent print processing, presumptive blood testing, crime scenes and some drug chemistry. After entering crime laboratory management in 1998, he became interested in the history of the Georgia Crime Laboratory and his research led to the publishing of this book. Jarvis has served on the Board of Directors for both the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors and the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board. He is one of the founding editors of Crime Lab Report, an independent organization that analyzes media coverage, public-policy trends and current issues affecting the profession of forensic science. Jarvis and his wife Debra were married 41 years.
