Dora George-Chappell
Dora is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dora graduated from Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School, Kentucky State University and Xavier University-Cincinnati. Dora is a hard worker; she is divorced with two daughters and seven grandchildren and most recently a widow. Dora has over 25 years of experience in the social service field working with both adolescents and adults with criminal justice, substance abuse and mental health issues. Dora worked in the school system as a Student Assistance Coordinator providing services for students and their families with financial needs for clothing, eyeglasses, counseling needs and college information. Dora has often provided services in the Madisonville area for others in the community working diligently with residents to empower themselves through the Madisonville CPOP Team; wrote a program for the Cincinnati Police-District 2 called The Second chance Program to provide wraparound services for adult ex-offenders; Referee for the Unofficial Juvenile Court Program in Madisonville to keep adolescents out of the criminal justice system. She is currently a master’s level, Licensed social worker, Licensed Independent certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, and an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant. She is also a member of the Madisonville History Committee; the Taft Museum of Art-Duncanson Society; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority - Sigma Omega Chapter.
