General Chemistry II is designed for the first term of General Chemistry (for most engineering majors) taught at Oregon Institute of Technology, but should be suitable for the first term of college-level chemistry at most quarter-system institutions. The concepts of the nature of light, electron behavior (configurations, periodic trends, bonding), molecular geometries, polarities, intermolecular forces, phase transitions, and the basics of semiconductors are explored.
