The Devil's Diary

Viv Warner is a detective with special skills. He can see things others can’t and he has special access to a long history of memories. His particular gift is for knowing what motivates one person to treat another cruelly. The problem for Viv is that he is slowly losing both his gift and his memories. He’s been around a long time. In fact, he's been around longer than time itself. Viv knows he’s missing a critical detail about the case he and partner, Peter Laidley, are working on. Was it suicide following an affair gone wrong? The accused party is Dena Richards - an enigma. Has she crossed the border from femme fatale to a killing-zone? The delectable widow, Mrs Sophia Brown, insists it was murder and flashes her bank balance to persuade Viv to take on the case. To lay open the secret beneath a long line of killings, Viv must bring out his old skills. Skills he swore he’d never use again. Skills that threaten to end his life and see his soul lost forever.
