Coma Dreams

Nicholas had not expected married life to be quite like this. One month after he had married the girl of his dreams, Susan, a tragic accident had left her in a coma. Now, three weeks later, he starts to dream about her, living in a hut on stilts over a swamp next to a strange walled city. (Clearly this has to have some symbolism, but he has no idea what it could mean.) He becomes convinced that he can actually talk to his wife when she gives him information that he clearly didn’t know but could verify when he was awake. Over time he discovers another person in this “world” who is a coma patient at the same hospital. He discovers that in order to have his wife leave her coma he must care for the people in this persistent dream world as much as he cares for his wife.
